LYS MARIE PERHAY
About
Lys Perhay is a multidisciplinary artist, designer, and historian from Eugene, Oregon. She holds a BFA in Product Design from Parsons School of Design and an MS in Historic Preservation from University of Oregon.
Lys’s creative practice sits at the intersection of art, design, and material history. Her work is playful and approachable, rooted in historical refrences and the natural world. She draws inspiration from the quiet beauty of old, well-loved objects and the plants and animals of the Pacific Northwest.
Her personal art practice includes the creation of decorative ceramic home goods, block prints, rowdy paper mâché masks, still life illustrations, and intricate paper cutouts. Working primarily in black and white, she embraces bold, punchy simplicity to celebrate her subjects with clarity and character.
Lys currently lives in Bremerton, Washington with her husband, and rescue dogs.
